Throttles and Cables
Three Signs You Need a New Dirt Bike Throttle Cable
If you're a rider, you know how important it is to have functioning throttle cables on trials bikes. After all, they allow you to control your speed and power while riding.
Unfortunately, over time, even the best cables can start to wear down and become damaged. If you notice any of these three signs, it's time to invest in a new dirt bike throttle cable.
1. Poor Condition
One of the most obvious signs of needing new throttle cables on trials bikes is if the one you're currently using is in poor condition. It could be frayed, kinked, or otherwise damaged in some way.
Not only does this make it more challenging to use your throttle correctly, but it can also be dangerous.
2. Failure To Return
Another sign that you require new throttle cables on trials bikes is if the one you're currently using isn't returning correctly. It means that when you let off the gas, it doesn't retract to its housing as it should.
Instead, it gets stuck or hangs up somewhere along the way.
3. Stretched Cables
If your trials bike's throttle cables stretch out or loosen over time, it can cause the bike to run out of adjustment and have too much freeplay, making smooth off throttle transitions harder.
